XVII. Blogs: 1st Amend.   These three blogs indicate the activity of and links to Faith, Freedom & Public Schools 2015-2017 projects:
  1. Pinellas County, FL School Board,   (a.k.a. /Blog_FFPS_Educator Workshop/ )   [This Faith, Freedom & Public Schools (FFPS) activity and Blog was discontinued because it's target has been redirected to FL state authorities in  # 3. below.]
  2. CEUs for Teachers and Administrators,  (a.k.a.  /Blog_FFPS_Educator CEUs )   [This FFPS activity and Blog began at the state level and became more relevant and more necessary as a result of the FL legislature passing the Freedom Law in  # 3. below, which became effective on July 1, 2017.  This activity and Blog has been redirected with renewed interest to #-3 below. ]
  3. New FL's Religious Freedom in Public Schools Law.  As a result of this new law The Faith & Freedom in Public Schools Workshop initiative is highly valued and now more important for the FL school personnel; and, so is the potential for awarding FL CEUs for the Workshop or CEUs for its equivalent.

This page is a tracking news weblog page that monitors the progress of Gateways' Workshop as we correspond with Dr. Grego, Superintendent of Pinellas County School Board via email.  The results of this blog hopefully will result in an annual Faith, Freedom and Public School Education Workshop for Pinellas County educators and a similar 1.5 hr. seminar for parents.
Some CURRENT reasons to have the 1st Amendment workshop and avoid expensive law suits.

  2. Florida High School Athletics Association bans prayer | Examiner.com January 27, 2016 In Tampa Florida, the Florida High School Athletics Association seems to have established itself as the arbiter of free speech when it comes to public prayer at games sanctioned by the high school sports organization. ... The FHSAA officials who apparently have no problem with the religious connotations of a Hail Mary pass have informed administrators from ...
  3. OK state senator authors bill to allow Bible as classroom subject Monday, January 26, 2015 | Bob Kellogg (OneNewsNow.com)| An Oklahoma state senator has introduced a bill that would protect public schools from lawsuits when the Bible is taught as history. Mustang Public Schools shelved the idea of teaching the Bible as history after two atheist groups claimed that would be unconstitutional. The class would be an elective and not mandatory. Sen. Kyle Loveless says the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that's not unconstitutional and his bill would protect public schools from lawsuits. ... "The class on the Bible that deals with its historical and literary effect on our nation and world is perfectly permitted under the First Amendment," he claims, adding that it is not a violation of church and state.

10/20/16,  The School Board attorney is not to thrilled about the program.  We will try a different way or try again at a later date.
