- Returning the Bible & Wisdom principles to
our public school children under the law.
-
- Church discipleship training:
What is the expectation?
What is the reality?
- ~
Howard Hendricks, speaking in terms of spiritual knowledge,
says the opposite of ignorance is not knowledge but
obedience. Implying that God wants to move us from
ignorance, to knowledge, to obedience. Which might
lead to salvation along the way; as in a reconciliation with God as in
a saving relationship with him. Recall Helen
Keller's testimony that she could sense or feel that there was a
Personal Presence in her; but she didn't know Who it was nor what was
required of her.
Are parents today operating with the right
assumptions? Do we believe that our expectations
for our child's spiritual training is sufficient in today's
world? If it is our desire that our children should
be better off than we are, shouldn't we expect our children to have
sufficiently more Wisdom to make better decisions than we
did? If they don't have the
Wisdom & Discipline, if they don't get the
Wisdom & Discipline, doesn't it follow that they will make the
wrong decisions? And more, worse decisions?
- The following chart is a description of several examples of
usual, typical or potential discipleship training scenarios for
children of varying opportunities of church involvement.
- The basic assumption for the chart is
that: Typically the minimum
expectations for "studying a book" is: reading a
book "once through"; or studying a book through; or using a book as a
textbook for a structured class.

PK means Preacher's Kids, SS = Sunday School
Not
counting part time home school (G), a one year Bible Class (H) would
come in 3rd Place behind PK's
Perfect Attendance! And exceeds Examples B
& C which are 13 years of "faithful" church attendance!
The ability, frequency and discipline of prayer
taught in Examples A-G should not be minimized.
-
- You can easily see that
Item (H) is a source of hope for the parents & grandparents
whereby a Bible Class has the potential to let the child "catch up" and
therefore minimize the lack of regular church
attendance. Item (H) has the potential to let the
child achieve almost "Once Through"
Bible study with instruction in wisdom principles.
Item (H) although structured above for older kids, implies that Vacation
Bible School (VBS) for younger children is quite appropriate
and you might consider a Biblical World View Class
for your Middle or High School child!
-
- American Parents' Expectations:
- At one point, the American public school system was
mandated to introduce the Bible, especially, to the children
of unchurched citizens, immigrants or laymen. This mandate
was originally required by the Northwest Ordinance of 1789; and, Thomas
Jefferson as Superintendent of the local school district was privileged
to provide Bible classes! The mandate to
teach the Bible took the form of required religious
Bible classes. The American School system was
expected to teach Bible principles to the students and did so
for 200+ years! This was not considered an "establishment of
a government religion" because:
-
- 1. There was no officially declared denomination; no
"established religion". All religion is private!
All denominations are independent of government! (Except the Federal
Church of the Public School.)
- 2. No one forced the students to believe it!
No one forced the students to join a religion.
- 3. The majority of the citizens & parents were
highly in favor of it. (Majority approval & consent through the
republic process.)
- 4. Contrariwise it was the parents'
extracurricular option to send their children to church confirmation
classes to learn & understand their faith
doctrines, to be formally presented with the gospel message
and the opportunity to accept or reject faith in
Jesus Christ!
- .
- We can easily see that prior to Everson v Board
of Education, 1947 it was understood that the
"separation of church and state" when applied to the student was
actually a spiritual separation. No other person or
government can bridge that separation in actuality. The Everson
court, apparently ignorant of the Christian religion and the
requirements of the spiritual nature of man, failed it's duty to the
traditions of the American education system.
- .
- Also prior
to Everson one of the purposes of the Bible Classes
was to formally introduce foreign immigrant students, and second
handedly their parents, to the God of America and the religion of
Christianity for the purpose of helping them understand the people,
faith, and liberties of their new nation that is especially blessed of
God above all other nations. Today's students and foreign
immigrants can easily see that the vacated morality of the school
campus has become a FRAUD
that promotes bondage in vices and sin. And that denial of
God and the spirit realm is the place where Depravity is the house
game; and greed is the object; and the wasteful destruction of
children, people and families are its by-products. Additional
observations will test your assumptions of the "lines of influencial
authorities" over k-12 public school children in our []
1. Calculation of Primary Influencers' (2001) []
; and then, see what happens in high school [HS]: [] Re-calculation
of Primary Influencers In HS Kids. (2003).[] .
- If you agree with the supposition that the Supreme Court
unjustly denied God & Religion in schools and opened the gates
for the perpetrators of Depravity in our schools, you might turn your
righteous indignation toward protecting our children.. Perhaps
you would be interested in working with HISways USA, Inc. or other
local faith based ministries to get Constitutionally protected elective
Bible Classes or other worthy programs into your public schools for the
sake of your children. It is not necessary to
reinvent the wheel. Our plan is to help spread the
programs that already exist and are already
operating successfully throughout the country. We
are interested in promoting and advertising those successful programs
developed by other worthy organizations.
