Richard,
Thank
you for passing this along to us again. Apologies as we did
not get it
the first time. I will make sure the Senator has the
opportunity to see
this email. I do want to let you know that the deadline to
file bills
for this legislative session has already passed. However, we
will
absolutely look in to CEU’s and keep this on our radar.
Please
feel free to reach out to me directly with anything moving forward!
Best,
Vanessa Thompson

Hi Vanessa T., Legislative Aide to State Senator
Jeff Brandes
Thank you
for responding to my request so quickly. I did find the email
that I sent to Senator Brandes. It explained my interest in
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Gateways to Better
Education Workshop on 1st Amendment activities regarding
religion in public schools i.e. both legal and illegal.
Information I think most teachers and administrators are lacking.
I have
attached a html copy to that email since it wasn't found in your
search. If you don't do attachments here is a link to the
email in web page format. Hisways.org/about/Blog_FFPS_EduCEUs/2015-12-15Sen.BrandesFFEW.html
. The email/page has a description and explanation of the
features of the workshop and the states that have adopted it for CEU
credit.
I would
like Senator Brandes to respond to the potential for a bill to allow
CEUs for this workshop for teachers and administrators in
Florida. I believe that this workshop might be especially
effective for faculty in failing schools and for parents with children
in failing schools. Gateways also has a similar shorter
seminar for parents given in the evening of the teacher's
workshop. Personally I think this is a very good way to
improve school morale.
Sincerely yours,
Richard Klenk,
