Thank you for reaching out to the legislative office of State Senator Jeff Brandes. We appreciate your enthusiasm for policy. As you mentioned, a Religious Expression ? in Public Schools law passed last year. You can find the Florida Statute for it here: ??http://leg.state.fl.us/STATUTES/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=1000-1099/1002/Sections/1002.206.html. While this law was written by the state legislature, it is to be implemented by the Florida Department of Education and subsequently ? school districts. It requires that the Department of Education create model policy, which will be followed by school districts for a limited public forum. The Department of Education has let me know that they have not yet completed this model policy, but they ? are certainly happy to share it with you once it has been approved.

This law does not include “continuing education units.” If this is your personal suggestion on a specific measure to be included in this model policy, then the ? Department of Education would most likely be your best resource before they have completed it. Here is a link to the Department of Education’s contact information: ?https://www.fldoe.org/contact-us. If “CEU’s” are an issue that you would like to address once our local school district has implemented limited public forums, then you are welcome to address the issue at that time.
