REASONS
"WHY EVERY
CHURCH SHOULD HAVE A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL"
The
following are some of the reasons:
1.
Integrate the Bible as the basis of all subjects. (II
Corinthians 10:5).
Casting
down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against
the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience
of Christ;....
2.
More relevant ministry. (James 4:17). Therefore to
him that knoweth
to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
3.
Teach the truth of creation science and not the lies of evolution. (Romans
1:20-24). For the invisible things of him from the creation
of the world
are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even
his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21. Because
that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful;
but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened.
22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23. And
changed
the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible
man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. 24.
Wherefore
God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own
hearts,
to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
4.
Pray in school. (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Pray
without ceasing.
5.
Reduce temptation and sin. (Romans 13:14). But put
ye on the Lord
Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts
thereof.
6.
Honor and love God. (Matthew 22:37). Jesus said
unto him, Thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with
all thy mind.
7.
Provide an environment safe from violence. (Proverbs
1:10,15,16,19).
My
son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. 15. My son, walk not
thou
in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16 For their
feet
run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. 19 So are the ways of every
one that is greed of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners
thereof.
8.
Protect children from predators. (11 Timothy 3: 5,6,8)- Having
a
form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away.
6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive
silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts. 8, ...Men of
corrupt
minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9.
Protect children from false teachings. (11 Timothy
2:15,16,23) Study
to shew thyself approved unto God, a -workman that needeth not to be
ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth, but shun profane and vain
babblings;
for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
10.
Provide godly role models. (Philippans 4:9). Those
things, which
ye have both learned, and received, and heard and seen in me, do; and
the
God of peace shall be with you.
11.
Teach the Christian heritage of the United States. (Deuteronomy
32:7).
Remember the days of old, consider the years of many
generations; ask
thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
12.
Replace ungodly peer pressure with wholesome relationships. (1
Corinthians
15:33). Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good
manners.
13.
Employ worthy Christian teachers. (James 3:1). My
brethren, be not
many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
(Col.
1:28)
Whom
we preach warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that
we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
14.
Teach abstinence only ... until marriage. (1
Peter 2:1 l). Dearly
Beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly
lusts, which war against the soul.
15.
Teach the Truth about many subjects, including homosexuality. (Hosea
4:6). My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because
thou has
rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no
priest
to me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also
forget
thy children. (Rom. 1:27) And likewise also the
men, leaving the
natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men
with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves
that
recompense of their error which was meet. (Aids/death).
16.
Teach phonics as the foundation for reading skills. (Isaiah
28: 9-10).
Whom
shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand
doctrine?
Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10. For
precept must be upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a
little
and there a little.
17.
Involve parents more in the selection of textbooks and curricula, and
in
the teaching process. (Deuteronomy 6:7). And thou
shall teach them
diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou setteth
in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest
down,
and when thou risest up.
18.
Provide a high academic standard in content taught, time studying, and
grading evaluations. (Ecclesiastes 9:10). Whatsoever
thy hand findeth
to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor
knowledge,
not wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
19.
Discipline children according to God's method. (Proverbs
13; 24). He that spareth his rod hateth his son. But he that
loveth
him chasteneth him betimes.
20.
Use textbooks which are wholesome, true, and valuable. (Philippians
4:8). Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things
are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever
things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be
any
virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
21.
Prevent children from leaving the church once they reach adulthood. (II
Timothy 4:10). For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this
present
world and is departed and is departed unto Thessalonica, Crescens to
Galatia,
Titus to Dalmatia.
22.
Prepare
more highly committed disciples for Christ to reach the whole world. (Matthew
28: 19-20). Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20.
Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I
am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
23.
Provide more ministry opportunities to the people of the church. (Ephesians
4: 11-13.) And he gave some, apostles and some prophets; and
some evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For
the perfecting of
the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body
of Christ
24.
Share the gospel to children of the church and to visitors at special
events.
(Mark
16:15) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the
gospel to every creature.
25.
In the long run lower taxes and the cost of education. (Malachi
3:11)
and
I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the
fruit of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the
time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
26.
Avoid the brainwashing to turn children against Christ, their parents,
and our country, which is occurring in most all government schools. (II
Timothy 3:2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves,
covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy.
27.
More bang for the buck which has been sunk into the church facility. (Luke
16:10-12) He that is faithful in that which is least is
faithful also
in much; and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11.
If
therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will
commit to your trust the true riches? 12. And
if ye have
not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you
that
which is your own?
28.
Prepare God- honoring citizens through whom God will bless our nation. (II
Chronicles; 7:14) If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked
ways,
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land.
29.
Provide a quality education whereby graduates will be qualified for the
highest paying jobs and best universities. (Proverbs
8:10-11) Receive
my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11.
For
wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired
are
not to be compared to it.
30.
Retain the savor of our salt; so we can effectively prevent the decay
of
this world.
(Matthew
5:13) Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost
his savour,
wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but
to
be cast out, and to be trodden underfoot of men.
31.
Maintain our liberties of free speech and exercise of religion. (John
8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you free.
32.
Prevent being unequally yoked with the world. (II
Corinthians 6:14).
Be ye not unequally yoked.....
33.
Prepare moral, literate and capable leaders for the future. (II
Timothy
2:2).
And the things thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same
commit
thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
